Postdoctoral Recruitment Notice for CIAR of CAAS
The Center for International Agricultural Research of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences is designed to establish a key platform for international cooperation and exchange, international talent training base, and information service platform for agricultural science and technology cooperation. It aims to become a modern hub of international cooperation for CAAS, and to provide services for open cooperation and technological innovation. In accordance with CIAR’s objectives, it is currently recruiting postdoctoral fellows.
I. Supervisors Introduction
Prof. Tang Huajun, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, former President and Professor of CAAS, doctoral supervisor, and expert in agricultural land resource. High Level Expert on Food Security at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, Deputy Editor in Chief of Chinese Agricultural Science, Editorial Board Member of Journal of Sustainable Agriculture and Resource Science in the United States, etc. Engaged in long-term research on the rational utilization of agricultural land resources, spatial distribution and structural changes of crop planting area based on remote sensing technology. Developed a crop remote sensing monitoring system to scientifically monitor the sowing area, planting regions, and yield of crops; created a series of spatial models to quantitatively analyze the historical spatial distribution and structural changes of the planting area of major crops in China; established a comprehensive model that couples natural and socio-economic factors to simulate the future spatial distribution trends of crops and their impact on food security in China. Awarded two National Science and Technology Progress Second Prizes, published over 240 papers, and authored 10 scholarly writings.
Research areas: Strategic research on agricultural technology going global, and research on the development of international organizations.
Prof. Sun Tan, professor, doctoral supervisor, Vice President of CAAS, and Director General of CIAR. Engaged in long-time research on digital information description and organization and led over 10 national and provincial-level research projects. Published more than 80 academic papers and have been the chief editor and contributor of 7 scholarly writings. He was awarded the special allowance by the State Council in 2005 and the title of "National Excellent Science and Technology Worker" in 2014. He was selected for the Youth Talent Program of CAAS in 2016 and a Leading Talent in Agricultural Science of CAAS in 2018.
Research areas: International cooperation in agriculture, going global in agricultural technology, and digital information description and organization.
Prof. Jin Ke, professor and doctoral supervisor, currently serving as the Director General of the Department of International Cooperation of CAAS, Director General of the Key Laboratory for Innovation in Efficient Grass Production Models of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs (MARA), and a leading talent in agricultural science of CAAS. Renowned for leading China's international soil science and technology cooperation, participating in multiple national plans and crucial documents related to international agricultural science and technology cooperation, and contributing to the evaluation of major projects. Appointed by the Ministry of Science and Technology as the leader of the International Cooperation Special Group for the 13th Five- Year Plan for Agricultural and Rural Science and Technology Innovation, and the head of expert group for the 13th Five-Year Plan for Agricultural Science and Technology International Cooperation by the MARA. He is the principal author of important research reports such as "Global Layout of Agricultural Science and Technology" and "Research on International Cooperation Strategy of Agricultural Science and Technology", and key contributor of national documents such as the "Agriculture Going Global Plan (2016-2020)" and the "Implementation Opinions of the State Council on Agriculture Going Global". Published over 60 papers in internationally renowned journals, authored one English monograph, served as deputy editor in one monograph, and contributed to 10 others. Acknowledged with two provincial and ministerial level awards.

Prof. Li Huishang, professor and doctoral supervisor, currently serves as the Deputy Director of the CIAR General Office, member of the "Research Talent Cultivation Project", and the Chief Analyst of the Sugar Industry Chain Information Analysis and Early Warning Team of the MARA; corresponding reviewer of the National Natural Science Foundation and the Beijing Natural Science Foundation. Engaged in long-term research on agricultural product market monitoring and early warning, resident food consumption, overseas agricultural development strategies, etc. In recent years, he focused on researches on agricultural and rural economic policies, animal epidemics and agricultural product markets, and the intersection of big data and agricultural economy in the process of promoting rural revitalization strategies; led more than 20 research projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the National Development and Reform Commission Special Project, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs Soft Science, and the Beijing Natural Science Foundation; contributed to the research on the policy of agricultural product price reform in the new era, and received affirmative approval from leaders at or above the provincial and ministerial levels for several reports written or contributed to. Published over 40 academic papers in core journals such as Journal of Integrative Agriculture, Issues in Agricultural Economy, Journal of Agro Technical Economics, Economic Review, and Journal of Huazhong Agricultural University (Social Sciences Edition). Reprinted one article (cover article) in Xinhua Digest and edited five books; successively won the "Excellent Paper Award" at the 3rd National Agricultural Economic Theory Frontier, the "Third Prize" for Excellent Paper at the 2020 China Agricultural Technology Economics Society Annual Meeting (the first prize is vacant), and the "Zhoucheng Agricultural Economics Award" (Third Prize) at the 2020 Academic Annual Meeting of the Beijing Agricultural Economics Society.
Research areas: overseas agricultural development strategies, big data and agricultural product markets, animal husbandry economy, and farmer welfare.
II. Application Criteria
1.Passionate about agricultural scientific research, committed to upholding discipline and law, exhibiting exemplary behavior well, and maintaining physical and mental well-being.
2.Possess research experience in renowned universities or research institutes, particularly in the fields of development economics, international development research, world economy, international relations and agricultural economic management. The ideal candidate should be under the age of 35 and generally hold a doctoral degree within the past 3 years.
3. Possess strong scientific literacy, with the ability to independently carry out tasks such as research proposal design, research report writing, project application and other related work in conjunction with research topics.
4. Have proficient data analysis and organization skills, with a strong command of data analysis software.
5. Published two or more academic papers as the first author in SCI, CSSCI, or one or more academic papers in economic management SCI, SSCI, and other journals within the last 3 years.
6. Possess CET-6 certification or higher eligibility such as TOFEL, IELTS or academic degree obtained abroad. Proficient in reading and organizing English literature, research reports, and other scientific and technological materials.
7.Fulfill other entry requirements for postdoctoral position in Agricultural Information Institute of CAAS.
III. Benefits

The salary and welfare benefits shall be commensurate with equivalent positions within AII; Adherence to national regulations for the payment of the social insurances and housing fund; Performance-based pay will be separately addressed based on research output, with specific details subject to discussion;
