On October 12, Vice President WANG Ren met with Paul E. Schickler, President of DuPont Pioneer, and exchanged views on enhancing collaboration on agricultural research between CAAS and DuPont Pioneer.

Dr. WANG briefed Mr. Schickler on the current status of agricultural research, education and technological service in China. Dr. WANG noted that crop-growing and related industries in China are on a fast track and that technological promotion plays a crucial role in establishing much-needed ties between farmers and markets. He said the inclusive development strategy and outstanding R&D strength of DuPont Pioneer lay a solid foundation for further cooperation between the two sides.

Mr. Schickler applauded Dr. WANG’s comments on the bilateral cooperation and expect the two sides to build a strategic partnership in order to advance research in the crop sector.

After the meeting, the two sides signed a memorandum of understanding on agricultural science and technology cooperation.
