During the meeting, Wu briefed the German delegation about the Academy’s latest S&T development in agriculture. “The intensified cooperation between China and Germany has benefited a lot for both sides, and will continue to improve the two countries’ agricultural research and development”, Wu said. “There is great potential for future cooperation. CAAS is willing to work with its counterparts in Germany to contribute to global food security and sustainable agricultural development”, he added.

Wu also proposed the two sides further explore potentials in S&T cooperation, particularly with the priorities in areas of the biogas, agriculture mechanization, livestock industry, food safety, environment protection and talent training.

Heider agreed with Wu’s proposal and expressed the willingness to facilitate the implementation of joint doctoral training program.

The two sides also discussed plans on setting up the Sino-Germany Center for Agricultural Science and Technology in the near future.
