ARRP boost cooperation with USDA in remote sensing and geoinformation technology
Recently, Institute of Agricultural Resources and Regional Planning (IARRP) of CAAS and National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) of USDA reached the MOU on S&T cooperation in agricultural remote sensing and geoinformation technology. The MOU was signed by Wang Daolong, DG of IARRP and Cynthia Clark, Administrator of NASS during USDA delegation to CAAS in Beijing.

During the visit, both sides discussed methods and potentials for the bilateral cooperation in agro-geoinformatics and its applications on crop monitoring, agricultural survey and statistics. Some common consensuses were reached on spatial sampling technique, crop mapping, crop growth monitoring, and agricultural resource survey by remote sensing and the agro-geoinformation standardization. Both also agreed to co-organize annual international conference on agro-geoinformatics, and considered it necessary to strengthen the bilateral cooperation under GEO (Group on Earth Observations) and G20 frameworks.
