Kenyan President visits China National Rice Research Institute
On August 22, Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta visited China National Rice Research Institute (CNRRI) in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province.
During the visit, CNRRI Director-General Cheng Shihua briefed the distinguished guests the latest progress in China’s hybrid rice research and its new strategy. When talked about the bilateral cooperation, Cheng said “we are willing to do more for Kenyan people”. He pointed out that CNRRI is ready to share expertise with Kenyan scientists and farmers in rice production.
Kenyatta praised CNRRI’s great contribution to China’s and the World’s food security. He said he hopes CNRRI scientist visit Kenya to conduct technical cooperation in areas of common interests.
