Twenty Postgraduates and Ph.D. Candidates Receive Monsanto Scholarship
On April 10, twenty students (including 11 postgraduates and 9 Ph.D. candidates of CAAS) received Monsanto Scholarship at Graduate School (GS) of CAAS. Luo Changfu, GS Deputy Dean, Tian Boyi, China Regional Lead, and Liu Ruifeng, China Finance Lead of Monsanto China congratulated and awarded winners certificates at the ceremony.
CAAS, together with Monsanto China, announced and signed to fund a scholarship and award program (the “Monsanto Scholarship and Award”) at CAAS in September, 2010. Each year, 20 recipients are to be selected from postgraduates and Ph.D. candidates of CAAS. The purpose of the Monsanto Scholarship and Award is to award CAAS students based on their academic performance and other criteria. To date, 94 CAAS students are awarded, with the entire sponsorship amounts to 524,000 yuan RMB. The program, expected by both sides, has become sort of a motive for students at CAAS to perform science research in agriculture.
