Wu Kongming meets member of US NSABB
CAAS Vice President Wu Kongming met with Professor Jan E. Leach from Colorado State University who is also a member of US National Science Advisory Board for Biosecurity (NSABB) on September 6th. The two sides exchanged views on strengthening joint research and communication between China and US in the area of plant disease control.


Wu Kongming spoke highly of Leach's efforts and contribution in strengthening and promoting the bilateral cooperation in the areas of plant molecular biology and molecular plant pathology. Wu also hoped that both sides should further expand personnel exchange, share experiences in scientific research and agricultural development, so as to make a better use of world-class talent's spillover effect.
Professor Leach expressed her admiration for China's significant progress in scientific research facilities and capabilities. She expressed her willingness to boost the short-term scientific visits with CAAS and to apply more funding support for the bilateral cooperative programs.
Professor Leach is a world famous scientist of plant molecular biology, and now is a visiting scholar at the Institute of Plant Protection of Chinese Academy of Agriculture (IPP-CAAS).
