CAAS President Met with the S&T Counsellor of the Embassy of Republic of France
Dr. Huqu Zhai, CAAS president had a heated discussion with Mr. Yves MIAUX, Counsellor for Science and Technology, and Mr. Andre VILLALONGA, Chief Engineer of Rural Engineering, Water and Forestry, Embassy of Republic of France in Beijing on 11 December 2008.
France is among the first countries that have established ties in agricultural research with China. French Academy of Agricultural Sciences has been a faithful partner to CAAS for over 30 years. Remarkable achievements were made in wheat genome and biotechnology through joint research.
At the discussion, both side expressed interests in ecologically friendly agriculture and ensuring food security in remote areas as well as assisting African countries in agricultural development.
