On May 28^th, CAAS President Li Jiayang met with Luigi Nicolais, the President of Italian National Research Council (CNR) at CAAS in Beijing. Both sides reached a consensus on further strengthening the collaboration.

“CAAS highly values the partnership with CNR, and will further consolidate the cooperation in agro-food processing, food safety and agricultural machinery, etc.”, said Li, “I have faith in the cooperation with CNR through but not limited to joint seminars, scientists exchanges and joint researches”. He greatly appreciated tremendous scientific contribution to the developing countries made by the Italian research institutions.


Nicolais expressed his appreciation for the reception of CNR delegation and highly agreed with Li. He also voiced expectation that CAAS and CNR can collaborate to make some demonstration in the Milan Expo 2015 with the subject of Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life.

Alberto Bradanini, the Ambassador of Italy, expressed hope to hold joint seminars during the Milan Expo 2015 on food safety and other mutual-interested subjects.
