The Closing Ceremony of Biogas Seminar Held at CAAS
On September 28, 2015, the closing ceremony of the Seminar on Biogas Industry Promotion and Management for African English-speaking Countries was held at Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS) in Beijing. This seminar is sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce of China (MOFCOM) and organized by Biogas Institute of Ministry of Agriculture (BIOMA).
During the ceremony, participant representative Ian MAKONE from Zimbabwe said in his speech that renewable energy and biogas in particular is a must for most African countries if they are to uplift the living standards of the inhabitants in the rural areas and when they return home participants would urge their governments to establish collaborative relations with Chinese government and organizations such as BIOMA.
This training seminar is the 63rd session organized by BIOMA since its establishment in 1979. 22 participants from Africa took part in the seminar. It lasted 21 days from September 8 in Chengdu and participants also visited Kunming of China’s southwestern Yunnan province and Beijing for study tours.
