Li Jiayang meets Vice President of Elsevier
On September 19th, CAAS President Li Jiayang met Brad Fenwick, Senior Vice President for Global Strategic Alliances of Elsevier at CAAS headquarters in Beijing. The two sides exchanged views on strengthening the collaboration in scientific and technological (S&T) information sharing.
During the meeting, Li highlighted the importance and role of Elsevier in the world, regarding the S&T communication, and expressed his appreciation on the partnership between CAAS and Elsevier. Thereafter, He updated guests on the latest agriculture research and development in China as well as the strategic innovation program which was launched at the beginning of 2013.
To strengthen the bilateral cooperation, Li suggested the following in his proposal: 1) to explore the potentials of CAAS expertism and thereafter recruit CAAS experts to be part of the editorial board of Elsevier; 2) to add more list of CAAS scientific journals within Elsevier, eg, animal science, agro-mechanization, etc.
Fenwick concurred with Li’s proposal and express his willingness to share more data with CAAS researchers.
