First Progress Meeting and WP4 2nd Workshop of FP7 LinkTADs Project Held in Shanghai
The first progress meeting and WP4 2nd workshop of FP7 LinkTADs project was held in Shanghai from 15th to 17th October 2014, which was organized by Shanghai Veterinary Research Institute, CAAS. LinkTADs is the project focusing on the linking epidemiology and laboratory research on transboundary animal disease and zoonoses in EU and china which has received funding from the European Union’s 7th Framework Programme for research, technological development and demonstration. The meeting is organized to report the progress and discuss the next work plan of LinTADs. During the meeting, scientists exchanged the knowledge and techniques on vaccine and diagnosis development of transboundary animal diseases and zoonoses.
The work package leaders of LinTADs reported the achievements and existing problems during M1-M12, and discussed how to perform the work plan of next year on the first progress meeting. On the WP4 2nd workshop, 12 experts presented their research results and control strategies on epidemiology, diagnosis and vaccines of transboundary animal diseases and zoonoese, including African swine fever, vector-borne diseases, brucellosis, bovine tuberculosis rabies, highly pathogenic pseudorabies and other animal diseases.
Generally, this meeting deepened the collaboration between Chinese and European scientists and accelerated China-EU cooperation on transboundary animal diseases and zoonoses. More than 50 participants from FAO, Centre de Coopération Internationale en Recherche Agronomique pour le Développement (CIRAD), Royal Veterinary College (RVC), National Veterinary Institute (SVA), Europa Media Non-profit Ltd (EM), Sociedade Portuguesa de Inovação (SPI), China Animal Disease Control Center (CADC), China Animal Health and Epidemiology Center (CAHEC), Shanghai Veterinary Research Institute (SHVRI), Harbin Veterinary Research Institute (HVRI), Huazhong Agricultural University (HZAU), Centro de Investigación y Tecnología Agroalimentaria de Aragón (CITA), Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale dell’Abruzzo e del Molise “Giuseppe Caporale” (IZSA&M), The Pirbright Institute (TPI) and Universidad Complutense de Madrid (UCM) attended the meeting.
