Science Advances: New Gate open to CAAS Scientists
On May 26th, CAAS President Li Jiayang met with Alan Leshner, the CEO of AAAS (American Association for the Advancement of Science) and Executive Publisher of Science at CAAS in Beijing. Both sides agreed to push forward the collaboration in the future.
Li highly recognized the leading role of US Agricultural S&T in the world and greatly appreciated the agricultural cooperative achievements between Science and CAAS. He briefly introduced CAAS and ASTIP (Agricultural Science and Technology Innovation Program) with existing cooperation with Science.
Leshner expressed the deep impression of rapid agricultural progress made in China. He added the good news that AAAS is going to launch a digital-only journal in early 2015 ---Science Advances, which is a new publication encouraging more diverse topics such as Agricultural S&T.
“CAAS attaches great importance to the cooperation with Science.” Li said, “The publication of Science Supplement aiming at making an overall introduction of CAAS worldwide achieved a big success in CAAS global publicity. Now this electronic journal, Science Advances, will be a new gate open to our scientists with more opportunities to share our scientific progress and outcomes.”
Li and Leshner also discussed other issues such as water scarcity, GMO, etc.
