Li Jiayang meets with CIP Board Chair
On April 18th, President Li Jiayang met with International Potato Center (CIP) Board Chair, Rodney D. Cooke and CIP Director General Barbara Wells, along with CIP-Beijing staff led by CIP-China Center for Asia Pacific Region (CCCAP) Director, Lu Xiaoping.
Li extended his congratulations on the successful convening of its Board of Trustees Meeting and Barbara Wells on assuming the office of CIP Director General. After introduced about the academy’s latest research progress and development, Li noted, the Chinese government attaches great importance to the potato science, technology transfer and production. He said, as an important partner to each other, CAAS is glad to see more CIP impacts on the potato research and development in China.
Cooke agreed with Li’s proposal and briefed CIP strategic plan for the next 10 years. He said the two sides should continue to make great contribution to the global food security through dedicated efforts and high-standard works.
