On July 13, CAAS inaugurated a joint laboratory of pomology with Italy at the Research Institute of Pomology (RIP-CAAS) in Huludao City, Liaoning Province. The launch, marking the first cooperative project by China and Italy in this field, will play a very important role in promoting fruit tree industries in both countries.

Considering different demands and advantages of the two countries, the lab has made cooperative schedule focusing on the development and utilization of fruit tree resources, the plant pathology of fruit trees, and fruit quality and safety.
