CAAS Leadership Meets Angola Secretary of State for Forests
On August 6th, Prof. Yang Zhenhai, Secretary of the Leading Party Group of CAAS, met with João Manuel Bartolomeu da Cunha, Secretary of State for Forests of Angola, for deepening agricultural science and technology cooperation between China and Angola.
Prof. Yang emphasized the significant potential for cooperation in areas such as crop breeding, soil improvement, plant protection, and veterinary science, highlighting the importance of the visit for implementing the consensus between Heads of the two countries. Mr. Cunha expressed appreciation for China's achievements in agricultural modernization and looked forward to comprehensive collaboration to enhance food security and sustainable agricultural development both in Angola and China.
Accompanying Mr. João da Cunha were João Ferrira da Gosta Neto, General Director of Institute of Agronomic Research of Angola, Alegria Agostinho Francisco, Interim General Director of Institute for Veterinary Research, and Aniceto Paulo, Deputy Director of the Strategic Food Reserve of Angola. Representatives from Department of International Cooperation, and the Institute of Biotechnology of CAAS attended the meeting.
