Symposium of Qingdao Sino-Russian Future Agricultural Research Institute Successfully Held
On November 5, the Symposium of Qingdao Sino-Russian Future Agricultural Research Institute, organized by the Tobacco Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, was successfully held in Qingdao. Over 150 representatives from research institutes, universities, and enterprises attended the seminar.
At the seminar, six experts from China and Russia jointly explored the future of agriculture, focusing on innovation and development paths. The discussions centered on high-quality cooperation under “the Belt and Road” initiative, with a particular emphasis on future food systems, modern agriculture, and circular agriculture. Topics included functional specialty nutrition products, efficient use of agricultural resources, plant functional peptides and their agricultural applications, and the utilization of salt-tolerant plants. The experts shared their latest research findings and cutting-edge perspectives. In addition to the presentations, collaboration discussions were held, leading to on-site agreements between several teams. The Marine Agriculture Research Center, the Plant Functional Components Research Center, and the Genetic Breeding Research Center of the Tobacco Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences signed agreements with Physiology, Biochemistry, and Functional Foods Laboratories of Scientific Center for Vegetable Cultivation of the Russian Federation, the Lichenology and Bryology Laboratory of Botanical Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and the Agricultural Technology Laboratory of the Russian Scientific Research Institute of Tobacco, Makhorka and Tobacco Products respectively.
Since its establishment in 2022, the Qingdao China-Russia Institute of Future Agriculture has continuously promoted in-depth exchanges and cooperation in agricultural science and technology, talent cultivation, and industrial innovation. The seminar received strong support from numerous research institutions, universities, and enterprises from both China and Russia, attracting widespread attention from experts and scholars in the field of agricultural science and technology, industry representatives and the media.
