Sino-US Joint Laboratory for Sustainable Agro-Ecosystems Research is launched
In March 2011, CAAS and the University of New Hampshire signed a Memorandum of Understanding between CAAS and UNH on the establishment of Joint Laboratory for Sustainable Agro-Ecosystems. Dr. TANG Hua-jun, Vice President of CAAS, and Tom Brady, dean of the College of Life Sciences and Agriculture at UNH, both attended the opening ceremony which was held on June 7th at CAAS. In his speech, Dr. TANG said that the joint laboratory brought the cooperation between CAAS and UNH to a higher level and that both sides should build on past achievements and strengthen joint research and personnel training in such areas as agro-ecosystem, non-point source pollution control, remote sensing and digital agriculture, soil and water resources, and plant nutrition and fertility cultivation.
The University of New Hampshire was founded in 1866 as the New Hampshire College of Agriculture and the Mechanic Art, and has now become a world famous public university.
