Li Jiayang meets DAS Global Vice President
On May 27th, President Li Jiayang met with Rolando Meniato, the Global Vice President of Dow AgroSciences (DAS) at CAAS headquarter in Beijing. Both sides agreed to push forward the agricultural science and technology cooperation.

Li first briefed the Academy’s latest development and its strategic initiation, the ASTIP (Agricultural Science and Technology Innovation Program). “CAAS is the national leader on agricultural R&D in China, while DAS is committed to delivering global innovative solutions addressing agricultural sustainability”, he said, “There is great potential for bilateral cooperation in common concern areas”. Li further proposed both sides to promote and strengthen the agricultural science and technology cooperation in the areas of plant protection, grassland management, rice breeding, etc.
Meninato introduced the profile and development strategies of DAS and expressed the willingness to collaborate with CAAS.
During the meeting, the two sides signed the DAS-CAAS Scholarship Agreement. The three-year scholarship is to encourage CAAS postgraduate students to pursue excellence in the agricultural studies and researches.
