2023 International Cooperation Work Conference of CAAS Held in Beijing
CAAS held the 2023 International Cooperation Work Conference on December 8th in Beijing, themed "Grasping the New Situation, Implementing New Tasks, and Constructing a New Framework." Prof. Sun Tan, Vice President of CAAS, and Mr. He Yibing, Deputy Inspector of of the Department of Science, Technology and Education of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, attended the conference and delivered speeches.
The conference highlighted the vigorous development of international cooperation work across CAAS over the past year, effectively serving the big picture goals of national diplomacy, contributing to the advancement of technological innovation, and providing robust support for further strengthening the China’s strategic scientific and technological capabilities.
Emphasizing the need to implement the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress, the conference called for the focus on the country’s most fundamental interests, and the adherence to the four-pronged comprehensive strategy. It urged further integration of agricultural science and technology cooperation resources to play a more significant role in ensuring national food security and accelerating high-level agricultural scientific and technological self-reliance. The year 2024 is set to see continued efforts to deepen leadership in global agricultural technological innovation, expand the global footprint of agricultural technology, and advance the construction of international exchange centers, all contributing to the construction of a strong agricultural nation through high-quality agricultural science and technology open cooperation.
During the conference, representatives from the Institute of Plant Protection, Institute of Environmental and Sustainable Development in Agriculture, and the Hainan National Breeding and Multiplication Institute gave exemplary speeches. Representatives from divisions of the Department of International Cooperation and Center for International Cooperation delivered work reports.
More than 120 responsible officers from relevant departments and institutes, as well as regional innovation centers of CAAS, attended the conference.
