LIHPS to initiate cooperation with its German counterparts
On July 25th, 2014, Lanzhou Institute of Husbandry and Pharmaceutical Sciences (LIHPS) of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS) reached the Memorandum of Understanding on science and technology cooperation with its German counterparts, the Institute of Farm Animal Genetics (ING) and the Department for Animal Breeding and Genetics of University of Giessen (JLU).
The three-party MOU was signed in Lanzhou during ING and JLU’s visit to LIHPS. According to the MOU, the three parties will conduct scientific collaboration in the farm animal genetics, mainly including genome analysis, molecular genetics, biodiversity and genetic resistance, etc.
During their visit at LIHPS, Professor Heiner Niemann (Head of ING) and Professor Georg Erhardt (Executive Director of JLU) also gave academic lecture to researchers titled respectively as ‘Recent advances in biotechnology in farm animals’ and ‘Focusing on milk protein variants in farm animals’.
