FAO Director-General José Graziano da Silva Visits CAAS
LI Jia-yang, Vice Minister of Agriculture and President of CAAS, met with FAO Director-General José Graziano da Silva during his tour to China on October 1 at CAAS.
LI expressed thanks and appreciation to Graziano for FAO’s efforts in program collaboration, capacity building and information sharing with CAAS. He reiterated that CAAS will continue to devote to the South-South cooperation in the agricultural field, with focuses in the fields of crop hybridization, pest management, animal vaccines, information sharing and agricultural machinery & equipment.
Graziano appraised CAAS’ recent accomplishments and progress on agricultural research. He said the FAO is happy to see more Chinese scientists join the campaign for the global food security.
After the meeting, Graziano and his delegation visited the National Crop Gene Bank and the National Exhibition Center for Agricultural Sciences both located in CAAS main campus.
