Sino-EU agro-products processing technology conference (2013) was held in Zhumadian City, Henan Province on September 6^th. The conference was co-sponsored by the Department of Agro-Products Processing of MOA (DAPP) and EU-China Trade Project, and organized by Institute of Agro-Products Processing Science and Technology of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (IAPPST-CAAS) and other agencies. DAPP Director-general Zhang Tianzuo, Chief Expert Javier Burchard from EU-China Trade Project and more than 200 representatives from domestic and foreign research institutes and private sectors took part in the event.

According to reports, China's agro-products processing industry developed fast over the past several years. Its output reached 16.6 trillion RMB, which equaled 18.4% of national industrial output. It has become a key factor in the process of industrial structure adjustment, and the main sector for modern agricultural development.
