IPP, Syngenta signed MOU on cooperation
On May 8th, Prof. Zhou Xueping, Director General of the Institute of Plant Protection (IPP) of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS), signed the Memorandum of Understanding on scientific and technological cooperation with Mr. David O’Reilly, Head of Syngenta Biotechnology (China) Co Ltd. (SBC).
According to the MOU, the two parties are to promote scientific cooperation in the fields of crop diseases control, biological control, insect pests control, agrochemical evaluation and other common interested areas.
IPP has very good collaboration with SBC. Under the frame of the MOU signed in 2011, the two parties have carried out science and technology cooperation in various forms in the field of insect pest control. In addition, SBC funded the Syngenta Friendly Laboratories Scholarship to graduate students in IPP in recognition of the outstanding performance and dedication in the postgraduate research project. Three graduate students in IPP were awarded the scholarship in 2013.
