On September 4th, President Wu Kongming met the visiting University of Agronomic Science and Veterinary Medicine of Bucuresti (UASUMB) Rector Sorin Cimpeanu at CAAS. Former Counselor for S&T affairs of Chinese Embassy to Romania Wang Jianzu attended the meeting.

Wu spoke highly of the cooperative relationship between UASUMB and CAAS. He expected both sides would make full use of their own advantages, work together in areas of germplasm resources exchange, crop sciences, animal genetics and breeding, soil resources and etc, and facilitate Chinese enterprises to "go out" by means of agricultural S&T cooperation. Wu also briefed the Academy's Innovation Project and two fledging institutes─Dalian Institute of Urban Agriculture and Shenzhen Institute of Breeding and Innovation.

Sorin Cimpeanu stated that UASUMB attached great importance to the cooperation with CAAS, expressed expectation to refine the cooperation with CAAS in areas of technology transfer, S&T park build-up, joint laboratory development and talent exchange.
