November 13, 2012, Dr WANG Ren, Vice President of CAAS met with Ms. Michelle O’Neil, Minister for Agriculture and Rural Development of the Northern Ireland and Great Britain at the CAAS main campus. The two sides exchanged views on the common concerned topics on agricultural research and development.


After the brief introduction about the academy’s research progress, WANG pointed out that food quality and safety, agro-food processing technology, and veterinary medicine could be the potential areas for collaboration with Northern Ireland research institutes. The Minister applauded the suggestion. Northern Ireland research institutions would look forward to further strengthening and promoting scientific and technological cooperation with CAAS, she said.

After the meeting, in the witness of WANG and O’Neil, Dr. DAI Xiao-feng, DG of Institute of Agro-Products Processing Science and Technology (IAPPST) and Professor Seamus Kennedy, CEO of Agri-Food and Biosciences Institute (AFBI) signed the MOU on the joint research center for meat science.
