December 2 2007, International Advisory Board (IAB), the first advisory body of CAAS was established and the first plenary session conveyed in Beijing. 

In his keynote speech, CAAS President Zhai Huqu elaborated on the 3S strategy of CAAS, namely Security, Safety and Sustainability. Board members gave feedback and shared international experience. 


At the session, Dr. Mike Gale FRS, the famous Bio-scientist and John Innes Foundation Emeritus Fellow was elected as the Chairman and Dr. Swaminathan, ex-president of India Academy of Agricultural Sciences the vice chairman. The Board holds another 8 prestigious members from agricultural institutes and international organization.
