Prof. Wu noted that both China and Iran are important agricultural producers in the world, with strong complementarities and great potential for cooperation in agricultural technology. The delegation from the Ministry of Agriculture of Iran visited CAAS twice within two years, demonstrating the Iranian government's high regard for China-Iran agricultural technology cooperation. He pointed out that CAAS has already carried out effective cooperation with Iran in the fields of plant protection, vegetables, feed, and functional plants, and suggested that based on the existing cooperation, the two sides should further deepen their scientific and technological cooperation in genetic resource exchange, crop breeding and cultivation, dryland farming and water-saving techniques, and climate change mitigation. Wu also proposed strengthening the building of joint platforms and the exchange and training of talents to provide technological support for agricultural development of both countries.
Minister Khavazi praised the achievements China made in agricultural technology and expressed his willingness to actively promote pragmatic cooperation between Iranian agricultural research institutions and CAAS in more areas. He emphasized the shared commitment to continually achieving new results in China-Iran agricultural technology cooperation, thereby making greater contribution to agricultural development and well-being of the people in both countries.
