IPP and BPHPPD reach MOU on establishment of joint laboratory
On April 8, Institute of Plant Protection (IPP) of CAAS signed the MOU on the Establishment of the Joint Laboratory of Crop Protection and Agricultural Biosecurity with its counterpart, Bioforsk Plant Health and Plant Protection, the Norwegian Institute for Agricultural and Environmental Research (BPHPPD), during BPHPPD Director Arne Hermansen’s visit in Beijing.
According to the MOU, the two parties will establish a scientific research platform in the fields of crop protection and agricultural biosecurity, including prevention and control of plant diseases and insects pests, especially on important nematodes and virus, monitoring and forecasting of pests and plant diseases, biotechnology and biosafety of genetically modified (GM) crops, bio-pesticides and other common interested areas.
The partners also reached consensus on exchanges of staff and S&T information, organization and arrangement of bilateral or multilateral seminars, symposia and conferences on the topics of mutual interests, and scientific papers publication, etc.
