Dr. Seamus Kennedy, CEO of Agri-Food and Bioscience Institute (AFBI), Northern Ireland visited CAAS on October 15, 2010 to boost the scientific cooperation with CAAS. Dr. Tang Huajun, vice President of CAAS received the delegation. Consensus was achieved that scientists in both countries should have closer contact through joint research or collaborative projects, particularly in the areas of agricultural economics, animal diseases, food safety and renewable energy. Substantial cooperation can be carried out through the Maria Carrie Action and other projects under the 7th EU Framework Program.
