On April 14-15, FAO organized a two-day-long workshop, with the title of Future Action Planning and Capacity Development for FAO Reference Centers in Haikou, Hainan Province. Thomas Laurent, Assistant Director-General of FAO, and Qu Sixi, Counsel of Department of International Cooperation of MOA delivered speeches at the opening ceremony. Over 30 officials and experts were present at the workshop.


In 2014, Biogas Institute of the Ministry of Agriculture (BIOMA) was designated as the FAO Reference Center for Biogas Research and Training. At the workshop, BIOMA representatives made a presentation on work review and action plan for the following years.
