Li Jiayang meets Rector of Ghent University
CAAS President Li Jiayang met with Rector Paul Van Cauwenberge of Ghent University from Belgium and his delegation on September 9th. Vice President Tang Huajun attended the meeting. The two sides exchanged views on how to consolidate and deepen agricultural S&T cooperation.


Li Jiayang introduced the Academy' s S&T Innovation Program. Li said, CAAS would like to push forward the bilateral cooperation with Ghent University in common interested areas, such as the capacity building, scholar exchange. He suggested both sides should further explore cooperation potentials and make full use of collaborative platforms.
Cauwenberge spoke highly of the joint research outcomes achieved over the past 20 years, expressed willingness to keep on supporting and pushing forward the close cooperation between Ghent University and CAAS in agriculture related sectors.
Both sides also discussed some details about the bilateral postgraduate training program. Cauwenberge and his colleagues visited the National Germplasm Bank and Institute of Crop Sciences (ICS-CAAS) after the meeting.
