At the Ohio State University, Dr. Cheng Shihua and the delegation visited experiment facilities in the Department of Plant Pathology and the Department of Food Science and Technology of the College of Food, Agricultural and Environmental Sciences. They talked with Dr. Ronald Hendrick, Executive Vice-President of the College, and relevant experts about laying a foundation for future cooperation and exchanges. Visits were also made to the technological R&D Center at Monsanto Company to conduct academic exchanges with experts of the Company’s breeding, biotech, and other research fields. Finally, at the University of California, Davis, they met with Dr. Liang Linxia, Director of the Asia Office, the Department of International and Intercollegiate Affairs, and a number of Chinese scientists. There, Dr. Cheng Shihua reported to students and faculty on the advances in China’s Hybrid Rice Breeding.
 

 

During the visit，delegates also met with some overseas Chinese students and visiting scholars，introduced them to CNRRI’s scientific research and welcomed them to join the Institute. The fruitful and substantial visit laid a solid foundation for cooperation and exchanges with the U.S. and introduced overseas talents to CNRRI.
