OCRI to lead the 973 Program for rapeseed high oil production
On April 7, the kick-off meeting of the 973 Program “Molecular Mechanism of High Oil Production in Rapeseed” , led by Oil Crops Research Institute (OCRI) of CAAS, was held in Wuhan, Hubei Province.

According to the Director-general of the OCRI also the program chief scientist, Dr. Wang Hanzhong, this program aims to perform a systematic study on the key scientific topic about molecular mechanism of high oil production in rapeseed, and to provide with theoretical and technical support for breeding new rapeseed cultivars with improved characteristics of high yield and oil content, wide adaptability and early-maturing. It would be of key importance for breeding new rapeseed cultivars with improved characteristics of high yield and oil content, wide adaptability and early-maturing, and also for the development of rapeseed industry.
