National Research Center on Livestock and Poultry Improvement Project Launched
On December 3, 2012, the ground-breaking ceremony for the National Research Center on Livestock and Poultry Improvement project was launched at the Institute of Animal Sciences (IAS) of CAAS.
This center, marking as the largest facility for livestock and poultry improvement in China, is scheduled to open in the mid of 2014 when the project complete finished. According to experts, the center is designed to conduct researches in the fields of animal germplasm resources collection, storage, assessment and diversity monitoring; animal molecular design and breeding; experimental animal model development and utilization, etc.
